November COTM winner 'Holly'

November COTM winner 'Holly'

Congratulations to Cinderella for winning our 'Cat Of The Month' competition for November! 🎉🏆
Here is Holly...
How does it feel to win our October cat of the month competition?
It feels absolutely amazing to win cat of the month, I am told that black cats are the hardest to rehome (which is madness) so I’m representing all the fabulous black cats out there!
My favourite thing to do is to curl up with my Mum, I love to rest my stump on her and sleep. When I’m not doing that, or eating treats from my snuffle mat, I love sitting on the window sill bird watching. It’s so much fun!
I love most treats, but chicken is my favourite, Mum usually gives me a piece when she has her dinner.
I am 7, I was hit by a car at 12 weeks old in Hailsham and someone thankfully found me and took me to the vets. I was in pain and so scared. The vets had to amputate my tail as it was badly injured and they x-rayed my pelvis and found it to have multiple fractures. I had a bad wound on my front left leg, so they put a bandage on it. I was so scared, I would hiss and growl at the nurses and vets and spent my days hiding at the back of my kennel.
My leg was unfortunately getting worse. Phillip the vet who saved me knew Menna the nurse loved cats so much and so he asked her if she would be happy to foster me. I was so scared that they thought I might not like living with humans. Menna, now my Mum, took me home. I had to be in a cage because my pelvis was broken. I was still scared and hissed at her every time she came near me.
Unfortunately she had to take me back to the vets to have my left front leg amputated as the wound was getting worse and worse. So I came home with only 3 legs, but it didn’t stop me. I learnt quickly to hold my toys in my 1 front leg and back leg. Slowly my pelvis healed and I started to trust Mum, she was kind, she gave me treats and pain relief and she would patiently wait for me to stop hissing at her. One day, she said I could come out of the cage, it was so much fun to walk around and explore. Then I heard my Mum say she was going to keep me. I still had to rest my pelvis at night, but I would steal Mums things like her hat and Socks and take them into my cage with me, to make me feel safe. 7 years later and I love living with my Mum, she buys me so many toys and plays with me and loves me so much. So I ended up being very lucky indeed.
I like to try and wake Mum up when she’s sleeping, so that she can give me treats. I also pounce on her feet when she moves them under the covers. I tell my Mum that I want to sleep under the blanket and she covers me up so I can be nice and cosy. I love her so much.
I mostly relate to Aphrodite as I have so much love to give, I just needed someone to give me a chance. I spend time looking adoringly at my Mum, because I love her so much, she is everything to me.
Thank you Holly for taking the time to answer our questionnaire and congratulations again!
